CONCEALED CARRY LAW
The Ohio General Assembly passed a revised House Bill 12 on January 7, and the following day, Governor Taft signed the Act. The law goes into effect April 8th.
The Putnam County Sheriff's office is expecting to be ready to take applications by the 8th of April 2004. Applications will only be accepted on Monday thru Friday from 8:00am till 4:30pm. It is important that all applicants have the proper paper work in order, at time of applying, to avoid an automatic denial. We also stress that the required photo to be provided by the applicant to passport size only and less the 30 days old.
The application fee is a non-refundable cost of $45.00 for Ohio residents who have lived here for five or more years. For Ohio residents who have lived here less then five years, the cost is $69.00 .
